Leviez and Basan are listed as publishers; as part of their large collections, they seem to have reissued prints published earlier, sometimes by others The sixteen suites of small etchings depict chinoiserie fountains, tents, trophies, figures in landscapes, and rococo flowers and ribbons. These motifs, probably derived from works by Pillement in other media, could easily be used as decorative sources for woven or printed textiles; painted, modelled, or lacquered paneling; engraving on silver; or painted porcelain.

The continual struggle of conservators to ameliorate the deterioration of objects has led to increasing use of synthetic polymers. These materials are part of the sophisticated technology that has been developed to augment and often replace traditional materials and methods.

Series IV contains the presentation brochures assembled by the firm of Duveen Brothers, which documented works of art in the firm's stock. The brochures present an ownership history and a detailed exhibition record for the artworks, appraisals by art historians, and bibliographies. The information for these scholarly commentaries is either culled from the firm's records or extracted from published sources.
Regarding the authorship of these brochures, one hypothesis mentioned by S. Behrman in his Duveen, is that they were written and compiled by George Henry McCall, an associate and librarian for Duveen Brothers, who prepared several catalogs issued by the art dealer. The archive contains handwritten drafts, typed drafts, carbon copies, annotated copies and lavishly bound hardcover copies of the firm's brochures. Annotations in ink or pencil on the cover of the brochures, such as "Gallery copy" and "Library copy," suggest the variety of uses of these brochures.
