No other seats became available during our hourlong ride. He struggled but held my son tightly. As we exited the train, his arms shook with fatigue. Decades ago, that same man used to rock me to sleep on packed trains. Those rides were magical to a child.

Loved how she stood up for herself and her kids, loved how she grew the backbone! Great hero. Genuinely good man! Some side characters and events were a bit exaggerated, but overall it was a very emotional and lovely read. Possible triggers: both MCs had deceased exes, but it was solved very nice and respectful. Yes, two!!! With t 3. With the death of the bastard, those women discover what a cheat he was.
One was married to him for nearly 10 years and they had 2 daughters and the other was married to him for 6 months after dating him for nearly a year. Neither of the women knew about each other. The heroine is the wife with two children. Honestly, their being friends and falling in love with each other wasn't convincing for me. It just happened too fast. He sees her at the funeral, looks at her eyes and discovers the anger behind the sadness.
One day, he goes to her house with his cousin to ask some questions about Eric - the dead bastard. Then, she starts to call him to ask about his sister's fake marriage, how Eric treated his sister, how they met etc. And this is how they become involved with each other and start to care about one another - too smoothly in a situation like that.
He has been celibate since then. No other girlfriend or anything. So for the very first time in 7 years, he starts to be interested in a woman, care about her, wants to be there for her etc. I can understand that the heart wants what it wants and you cannot choose who you will fall in love with but this has happened in a way that wasn't very convincing, as I said. Blake, the hero, was there for the heroine, Samantha, more than he was there for his sister, Hailey. It was weird.
Well, to cut it short, I just didn't understand how they fell in love - period! Both the hero and the heroine were broken for different reasons but the hero was broken for 7 years whereas the heroine was just recently broken. Maybe, it also felt too soon for me for her to fall in love a few weeks after her husband's death, which made it less convincing for me. I liked how they bonded and how they started to set up a new life together. The dead husband's family was as awful as their son but Blake's whole family was just awesome. The two daughters were so sweet and they made me cry a few times, especially when they talked to Hailey - the secret wife.
So if you need a romance book, this won't cut it. The romance is the secondary topic in this book. And if you need something hot, again this is not it, it has a few scenes that are tastefully written towards the end but I can't say they are hot, they are just OK. I wasn't satisfied with the "falling in love" part. And as for the hero, I respect that he mourned for his first love and thought he would never love again but staying celibate for 7 years was a bit too much again, in my opinion. So whereas the heroine's falling in love after a few weeks was too soon, the hero's touching another woman for the first time after 7 years was a bit too late.
I mean, what was the point of it? Samantha could have easily won her case without that stupid revelation! As a plus, it has a decent hero and a strong lovely heroine View all 15 comments.

She was an amazing mother. Hero was a good man.. I liked how he became her friend despite everything. For a moment I was scared because he also was a broken man. I needed for someone to loved the heroine whole heartedly. I liked his parents very much, how they supported the heroine when she needed the most. I was happy she was able to help her too. Im happy that i loved this book. But im only giving it 4 stars because i needed more couple time.
I wanted her in laws to suffer for everything they did to her. Safety: Safe. Hero has been celibate for 7 years after the death of his girlfriend. View all 18 comments. I was going to skip this book, but when I read Leonor's review here , I changed my mind. I loved the story and cheered for our heroine and I wished Eric's soul was burning in the marble of hell. Our hero is wonderful! I cried and became emotional in several passages of the book.
I had already imagined what would happen, I think the fruit does not fall far from the tree. It was just as I imagined. I finished reading with a good feeling, which is rare lately. Kudos to the author. My hopes, my dreams—eve I was going to skip this book, but when I read Leonor's review here , I changed my mind. My hopes, my dreams—everything got buried the day we lowered her casket into the ground. I went through the motions, pretending I was okay when inside, I was empty.
I was hollow; it was gone. I had a mini breakdown seven or eight months ago because I thought he was cheating. We have girls. I know now, my husband dying, him cheating on me, my kids without a father, my dreams of growing old with him gone. Beaten straight down to my core, straight down to my bones. Jealous that no one ever loved me so fiercely. Not once.

And Blake, the man with the broken heart; went from being her lifeline to her salvation. Samantha too, thought she finally had the life she always dreamed of. After being born a crack baby, and growing up alone in the system; she had a handsome husband, two beautiful children and had married into a sweet family.
But when the awful lies of her husband come crashing down, her reality goes from sweet to sour in an instant. Her husband had unlawfully married another woman and had been living a double life for months. Blake and Samantha become close friends. He is helping her heal from the terrible ordeal her husband left her with after dying, but little did he know that she would also be healing his broken heart.
I love how the bad actions of one man could cause such an amazing chain reaction of love. We get three different love stories, from all different angles but equally stunning and sweet. All of these characters in this series have touched and warmed my heart in some way or another. Natasha Madison creates characters that stick with you…characters that bury themselves so deep into your soul, they become unforgettable. Bravo to this author for making me bawl my eyes out, for making me feel so damn much, and for making a statement in this genre. You have no idea! The ending of this series was gearing up to be a good one, and Natasha Madison did not disappoint! She has given us a heartfelt, emotional story that is sweet, swoony and so freaking romantic! With a slow burn romance, a whole lot of surprises and all the feels, I devoured this book in one sitting and I absolutely loved it. Just a note — you could read this as a standalone, but it will be SO much more meaningful if you read the books in order and enjoy it as a whole.
Oh, and randomly — that cover is so, so perfect! Samantha thought she had a great life. After growing up alone in the system, she married Eric, a man she loved with her whole heart, she was loved by his family who she claimed as her own, and they had two beautiful girls that she cherishes.
Her husband has been killed in an accident, and it appears he has a second family — a secret wife he married only six months previously, and her whole life is a lie. He is torn apart at seeing his sister so devastated, and when he goes to see Samantha for answers, he is shocked to see a woman who is just as much a victim as his sister, but who is somehow holding it together, and her resilience impresses him. And when, in desperation, Samantha reaches out to him looking for answers, he is there for her. I freaking LOVE these two together! Things are a little strained between them at first, but the phone calls and texts as Samantha sorts out the truth from the lies are honest and respectful, and slowly become friendly.
That friendship soon becomes a flirtation, which soon becomes a whole lot more. But as broken as Samantha is, Blake is just as shattered. His loyalty to his lost love is so beautiful. And I love how so much of this story was about their individual journeys. They both had a lot of healing to do, and though they helped each other to do that, they had to stand strong on their own as well, and I loved that that became such a big part of the story.
This is such a special story. And the twists and surprises kept me on my toes as it all played out. And we get to catch up with the characters from previous books, which I really enjoyed. This is a story of heartache and healing, of finding yourself and opening yourself up to love again. An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Broken love was an all consuming story of heartbreak and worlds ripped apart. This story is full of emotion, anguish, anger and moving forward when everything is trying to hold you back. Knowing who she is and even knowing that the past events were not her fault it was still hard to think that her and Blake would be good for each other all thing considered. This story definitely gives the feels and had my heart in the back of my throat multiple times.
A definite must read. May 01, Jennifer D. So good! I loved Blake and Samantha's story! So heartbreaking what everyone in this series endured but yet was still able to find their HEA. This was my favorite book in this series. Blake was everything a good book hero should be. Samantha was a strong heroine and I loved how she loved her girls. Slow burn and well developed chemistry with these characters- I really enjoyed this book! Jul 11, Courtney rated it it was amazing.
Sounds crazy but I love when an author is able to make me feel so much in books. The title pretty much explains this book - your heart will get broken but Madison does mend it right back up. I was so very excited to read this story since the beginning because I wanted to see what Samantha had endured during this all this.
Before I continue - let me clarify that you must read these books in order or 4. Before I continue - let me clarify that you must read these books in order or you will be so lost and not understand everything. As I was saying, this book is Samantha's and Blake's story.
They are both broken souls who happen to drift one another when her husband is killed and she finds out that he has been cheating on her this surprise is let out of the bag in the first book. Not only does she have to mourn the death of her cheating husband, she has to live with unanswered questions and continue to do so while raising their two daughters. But that is not all that she has to deal with - her new start just gets worse read the book to find out more. But through it all, she finds compassion and strength in Blake - a man who would not have entered her life had her husband not cheated on her with Blake's sister.
Oh yea - let the shit hit the fan!! I won't say anymore on this book. I feel like I have already given too much away, even though it's pretty much what the synopsis gives you.
11 Painful Breakup Stories That Will Hurt Your Heart, Because Ugh
LOL Natasha writes a very enticing, heart-pounding romance where love is found in the most unexpected places. Some readers may feel that she did not grieve long enough and fell in love too fast honestly, I am surprised that I don't feel this way. But it's Natasha's writing that makes this all flow so smoothly and seamless that it feels natural. This series is one I highly recommend to read. Just prepare for your heart to go through some beatings and need a few stiches in the end.

For a few years now Natasha Madison has been my go to author. There is something about her characters and her writing that is not only addicting but also all-consuming. I always finish the novel feeling completed. Broken Love Story is the final book in the Love Story series. Novel Breakdown: Blake never imagined in a million years he would wake up one morning and receive such devastating news, his brother-in-law i For a few years now Natasha Madison has been my go to author. Being a ward of the state, Samantha lived her life bouncing from foster homes until she met and married Eric at nineteen years old.
Her dream was to always have a family and now those dreams have come true. So what happens when Samantha wakes up to realize her whole world just came crashing down around her leaving nothing but secrets and questions of why in the dust. My Thoughts: Broken Love Story is exactly that. This novel is the story of two broken souls coming together and creating one. Sometimes you have to go through the pain and agony life throws at you.
The pain and agony that makes you see the world differently and in the end game makes you appreciate the smaller details in life and love. The first quarter of the novel skims over details we already know. I learned one thing throughout this novel Overall, Broken Love Story is a great romance that consumed my entire day. Jul 12, The Book Bee rated it really liked it. Let go of your problems, pick up these books, and just smile your way through the entire series. I'm serious.
While they are very light on actuality in some aspects, they are very, very on point with sexy and sweet, engaging and perfect. I said it already in one of my reviews for this series, and I'll say it again This isn't even a style I would shout out, but dammit if her stories aren't inviting and warm and make you smile!! It completely took me by surprise by how much I loved it! The way she tells her stories, it's with a no nonsense, quick and blunt way to get her story across: to the point and I loved it!
It works. There is no dillly-dallying around.

I'm usually a highlighting fool. I was just so caught up in their story that I just whipped right through it.
I'm serious when I say I loved this I truly did. With this one's very enticing, very eye-opening tagline, I was immediately sucked in to the entire series. Favorite tagline of the YEAR! Not only did we get three points of views on the exact same occurrence with each book in this series, not ONE of them was the same and bored me or felt repetitive.
I felt her pain. I loved and lost with her. So sweet, that Crystal was. But when I got to this one, Blake's mental discussions were so sad and so protective. Totally made me fall deeper in love with him. A young man with his head on his shoulders, and his priorities and morals were in tact. In love. Happy as can be. This series was truly the easiest read I've had in a while and this book was the perfect finish for it!! There were two timeline inconsistencies that I noted while reading this one, but nothing that really messed with the overall flow of the story or the book, so it didn't truly affect me on an enjoyment level.
All in all, this series gave me nothing but smiles. Ok, and a few tears I cannot recommend it enough for those of you that want a light, fun and easy read that's guaranteed to make you smile. If she can infuse as much sarcasm and wit as she did with such a sobering topic, well I am game. Again, not my normal reads since I like the heavy, emotional kind, but this kind of writing I would love to throw in between the heavies. This was seriously perfect for me. What a breath of fresh air! Jul 01, Tania's Book Blog rated it really liked it. Blake is the big brother every girl needs.
